Gettin Crafty Challenge Week #4

Ok, so with the crazy sickness that hit our house over the last week I am a little behind on the Gettin Crafty Challenge. You know at first I was all bent out of shape that I didn't post things on time for the last week but then I sat and thought... life is just like that sometimes, especially with kids and a business. You just never know what kind of craziness will be thrown your way.

For this years advent calendar, I wanted to do something a little different so with Xander's help, we came up with a cool idea using felt, buttons, posterboard and envelopes. Here is our finished product...

Cupcake Inspiration

Gia's 4th birthday is tomorrow and she wanted me to make cupcakes for her class so I was sitting here trying to come up with something simple but cute. The only thing she gave me to go by was "chocolate, I want chocolate". I hopped over to Flickr to try and jump start my creativity. It worked wonders but now I am craving cupcakes, go figure! Gettin Crafty!

I decided to challenge myself (and everyone else out there that wants to join) in a crafty challenge for the holidays. Over the past 6 months life and work have been so busy that I haven't gotten a chance to craft. While I am thankful to be busy sometimes you have to take time out for yourself and do something that you love. I am horrible at this and after looking at my craft table (which has now become a catch all) I decided to do something about it! Getting Crafty is just that. I am going to challenge myself to make one craft (or more) a week until Christmas. Painless right? The holidays are a great time to craft so I think having the challenge around this time of year is perfect.

So, here is the challenge for all of you out there. :) If you would like to follow along with me, just grab a banner (over there on the sidebar) and post about the challenge on your blog. Then come back here and leave a link to your blog so everyone can go and check out your progress with the challenge. Each week I will post a craft that I have made for the challenge and I just ask you do the same. I would love to see photos of what everyone is making so feel free to send those to me or post a comment with a link to your blog and what you have made here.

I am going to try and post what I have made on Sundays but as we all know life doesn't always go as planned so it may pop up here on another day. The challenge will start this week so I will have to finish my first craft and post it by next Sunday. Hmmm now that we have a Hobby Lobby near us, I have all sorts of crafty ideas going through my head. :) I hope that everyone out there will join me and feel free to pass it on! Crafty Goodness!
